Check out these interactive graphs from the Economic Policy Institute to see unemployment rates and changes in overall employment since December of 2007. Fun fact: the state that has done the best in terms of   the aggregate labor market is North Dakota. The reason: fracking (see Ross Douthat and Matt Yglesias for more on that phenomenon).
